Requirements
- Norway issues a visitor visa to nationals of other countries for various short-stay purposes.
- With the Norway visitor visa, individuals to travel for tourism, business, visitations, and ceremonies.
- Applicants are expected to have an accommodation reservation valid for the duration of their stay in Norway.
- If you have a host, the person is required to send an invitation letter stating the relationship between both parties, the purpose of the visit and the duration of the stay.
- A covering letter is required by the Norwegian embassy introducing the applicant and carrying details about the trip.
- When entering into Norway, the currency restriction for travellers is 25,000 Norwegian Kroner (or equivalent), not including traveler’s checks.
- Those travelling for a business trip are required to have a letter from the host company stating the purpose of the trip, duration of the business trip and if the host will sponsor the trip.
- Employed applicants are to present a letter from their employer. The letter should contain the applicant’s position and salary at work and that the applicant is on official leave.
- All applications are to be submitted in person to the embassy and an interview would be required.
- Individuals are to have medical insurance worth 30,000 euros and valid for all the Schengen states.
- Ensure that your documents are correct and complete. Incorrect or incomplete documents would cause a delay or rejection of the application.

- This visa is issued to individuals who want to take up paid work in Norway.
- With this visa, individuals can be paid for services rendered and can take and switch jobs.
- Since this visa is a long-stay visa, the holder has to get a residence permit which would be valid for the duration of their contract.
- It is essential that you have a clean criminal record in Congo before applying for a Norwegian work visa.
- Your passport should not be issued more than 7 years ago and should still be valid for up to 3 months after you return to Congo.
- If you have been posted to handle a Congolese branch in Norway, you can do so with this visa.
- Applicants are to submit their signed employment contract during the visa application.
- Tests to prove that the applicant is free of contagious diseases is required.
- The employer in Norway is expected to issue a letter explaining why the foreigner was employed over a qualified citizen of Norway.
- Applicants are advised to abide by all the stipulations of this visa. Defaulting can lead to your visa being revoked.
