Frances McDormand net worth and salary: Frances McDormand is an American film and stage actress who has a net worth of $30 million. Frances McDormand was born on June 23, 1957 in Chicago, Illinois where her father was a pastor. She moved frequently as a child, living in small towns in Illinois, Georgia, Kentucky, and Tennessee before settling in Pittsburgh where she graduated from high school. McDormand has a B.A. in Theatre from Bethany College and an MFA from the Yale University School of Drama. Holly Hunter was her roommate at Yale. McDormand made her film debut in the Coen Brothers first film, 1984’s “Blood Simple”. At the time, McDormand, Hunter, director Sam Raimi, and the Coen Brothers all shred a house in The Bronx. She played Dot in 1987’s “Raising Arizona” again with Holly Hunter. She also was a regular on the fifth season of the television police drama “Hill Street Blues”. Frances McDormand has been nominated for an Academy Award four times. She won the Best Actress Oscar in 1996 for her role as Madge Gunderson in the Coen Brothers film “Fargo”. McDormand has been married to director Joel Coen since 1984, and the two adopted a son from Paraguay in 1994. McDormand has appeared in six of the Coen Brothers films.  In 2017 Frances McDormand appeared in the film “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri”. Her work on this movie led to yet another Oscar nomination, this time for Best Actress.
