The former governor said she would speak in the Oval Office through the end of 2018 with President Trump, who accepted the resignation. Despite describing her time at the UN as a blessing, Nikki Haley gave no reason to step down other than her belief that government officials need to know “when it’s time to step aside.”

According to the watchdog, Haley accepted seven luxury private air travel gifts from South Carolina business executives. However, that may not be part of the reason for her resignation.
