Nikita Koloff (born Nelson Scott Simpson on March 9, 1959) is a former professional wrestler, actor, and pastor who hails from the United States of America. For most of the 1980s and early 1990s, he fought under the ring moniker “The Russian Nightmare,” which was a play on the nickname of fan favourite “The American Dream,” Dusty Rhodes (in fact, it was Rhodes who gave him the nickname). Nikita was recruited by his “Uncle” Ivan to compete in the National Wrestling Alliance in order to demonstrate Soviet supremacy.
Their ultimate aim was to depose former NWA World champion Ric Flair from his position. Koloff was not only acclaimed as a physical wonder, but he was also known as the Russian Road Warrior. He was billed from Moscow while the Soviet Union was still in existence, and then from Lithuania when the Soviet Union was no longer in existence. Now a pastor, Koloff may be seen on the Lifetime Network series Preachers’ Daughters, which she co-created.
