The Workers’ Party (WP) is investigating an online video depicting an inappropriate interaction between two senior party members, Leon Perera and Nicole Seah.
Perera and Seah hold positions on the party’s 15-member central executive committee (CEC), the party’s highest decision-making body.
Leon represents the Serangoon division of Aljunied GRC as an MP and leads the party’s media team.
Ms. Seah, on the other hand, is the president of the WP’s Youth Wing and contested as a candidate for East Coast GRC in the 2020 General Election.
She first entered politics as a candidate for the National Solidarity Party in the 2011 General Election.

Nicole Seah And Leon Perera Affair: Leaked Video Gone Viral
The Workers’ Party (WP) is presently conducting an inquiry into a video circulating on the internet.
The footage shows an inappropriate interaction involving two prominent party members, Member of Parliament Leon Perera and Nicole Seah.
The video, which lasts 15 seconds, shows Leon touching the hand of Nicole while having a glass of wine at a restaurant, with passing cars visible in the background.
The Workers’ Party (WP) issued a statement acknowledging their awareness of the video and intention to investigate the matter.
The party emphasized the importance of its members taking full responsibility for their actions and behavior.
During his Meet-the-People Session on Monday, Mr. Singh, the WP chief, declined to provide any comments. Interestingly, Mr. Perera did not attend his MPS.
Later on, Singh visited the party’s headquarters in Geylang, where he discussed with other WP leaders, including former secretary-general, regarding this issue.
A resident named Christy Lee, residing in Mr. Perera’s Serangoon ward, expressed her belief that he should assume some responsibility and address the situation.

Nicole Seah and Leon Perera are both married individuals and parents.
Nicole Seah married Bryan, an engineer from Singapore residing in Australia, in August 2015 at the Registry of Marriages.
They welcomed their first daughter in 2018, followed by the birth of their second daughter in 2022.
In 2015, Nicole Seah had a minor role in the SG50 film “1965,” where she portrayed the character Mei, the wife of a police inspector played by Qi Yuwu.
It is essential to mention that on November 27, 2013, website AsiaOne and newspaper Lianhe Wanbao publicly apologized to Seah for incorrectly implying that she was in a relationship with a married man.
Similarly, Leon Perera is married to a woman named Carol, and they have a son and a daughter together.
Concerning the video that has gained viral attention, the Workers’ Party emphasizes its expectation that all members take full responsibility for their actions and conduct.
Some political observers drew parallels between how the party handled the alleged affair of former Hougang MP Yaw Shin Leong.
They also speculated how the party might approach the current viral situation involving Mr. Perera and Ms. Seah.
However, it is worth noting that no confirmation has been made thus far. At the same time, citizens are waiting for a response from either politician.
