NFL Purse Size Rules and Gameday Bag Policy

NFL Purse Size Rules policy permits only clutch purses or non-clear bags that fit within the dimensions of 4.5″x 6.5″ into the stadiums.

NFL Purse Policy 2018 is the same as the current one which is a set of guidelines that regulate the size and type of bags that fans can bring into the NFL stadiums.

The rule is intended to provide a safer environment for the public and speed up the fan entry process. Here are some of the other key reasons behind NFL bags and Purse size rules:

  • Enhanced security
  • Speedier entry
  • Consistency
  • Public safety
  • Emergency response
  • Reduced concealment of prohibited items

NFL has 30 stadiums in total and each stadium has its own rules for bags and carriers that fans can bring in. Los Angeles is the only City in the US that hosts two NFL teams the Rams and the Chargers.

NFL Guidelines For Clear Bag Policy

NFL clear bag policy allows clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bags that do not exceed 12″x 6″x 12″. One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag is permitted.

The National Football League strongly advises the fans not to bring larger bags than the permissible dimensions for the quickest entry into the stadium. Small clutches with or without handles are permitted.

NFL bag policy does not permit the Buckles, grommets/hardware. However, Medically necessary items fall in exception to the rule but only after the proper inspection at the gates.

One person can bring one large clear carrier either a one-gallon Ziploc-style bag or a clear bag and a non-clear bag that is 4.5″x 6.5″ or smaller.

The basic motto of the NFL bag rules is to provide a safer environment for the fans and significantly expedite fan entry into the stadium.

The Policy limits the size and types of bags that may be brought into stadiums and requires fans to use clear bags that are easily searchable and visible.

The NFL Clear Bag Policy prohibits the entry of the following items:

  • Coolers
  • Briefcases
  • Non-clear backpacks
  • Non-clear fanny packs
  • Diaper bags
  • Non-clear cinch bags
  • Non-approved seat cushions
  • Luggage of any Kind
  • Computer Bags
  • Camera or Binocular Bags
  • Bags that do not meet NFL policy

  • It must be a small clutch bag that is 4.5″ x 6.5″ x 2″ or smaller with or without a handle
  • Purses larger than clutch bags are not allowed

The regulations apply to all the NFL stadiums and events but some fields may have additional guidelines specific to their venue.

Additionally, if you bring a purse that is not allowed, you will need to leave it in your car or at a designated area outside the stadium.
