Nelly Korda and Jessica Korda

Take one quick scroll through Jessica and Nelly Korda’s social feeds and it’s obvious the sisters have more in common than their last name. During an interview at the Evian Championship, 19-year-old Nelly, who has nearly 40,000 followers on Twitter and Instagram, gushed when asked about whom she considers her most valuable follower. “It has to be my sister,” Nelly said. “I can’t believe my sister follows me.” The feeling is mutual.

Her sister Nelly is 24 years old also a member of PGA since 2011, is excited to share the experience with her younger sibling. “To be able to have my little sister, [my] best friend with me, it’s so, so cool,” Jessica said. Years on the road have taught Jessica many lessons. She’s passed those along which has helped Nelly make a successful transition to the LPGA. Most importantly, she reminds Nelly to be herself. The younger Korda followed her advice when she made her debut in January at the Pure Silk-Bahamas LPGA Classic. There, Nelly carded a third-round, 63. Jessica played in the group behind her, clapping and cheering on her sister from the fairway. She congratulated Nelly with a #proudsis post on Twitter.

Nelly Korda Defend Taiwan Swinging Skirts LPGA

Taiwan Swinging Skirts LPGA presented by CTBC, It was a dramatic final round on Sunday but ultimately it was 2018 champion Nelly Korda who hoisted the trophy for a second straight year. Korda started the day with a three-stroke advantage over Minjee Lee and a four-shot lead over Caroline Masson, and she ended the day with a perfect 5-hybrid to set up a birdie on the first playoff hole to take home her third LPGA title.

Korda was unable to build on her lead on the front nine with two birdies and two bogeys and instead watched Lee and Masson chisel away at it. Lee stumbled out of the gates with a bogey, before settling in and going birdie-par-eagle-par-birdie on Nos. 4-8 to tie Korda’s lead at the turn. After finding the water with her second shot on the par-4 9th, Korda made a long putt to save bogey and to keep her title defense alive. Korda birdied holes 10 and 12 to build back a three-shot lead, but that’s when things got interesting. Korda had three short par putts turn into three three-putt bogeys on 14, 15, and 17 to lose the lead for the first time all day to Masson with one hole to play.

Masson made par on the par-5 18th hole in regulation while Korda and Lee birdied to force a three-way playoff. Korda was the only one to find the fairway in the playoff and hit a perfect second shot to set up an eagle chance. She left the eagle putt short, but a birdie would be enough for her to win her third career LPGA title and second straight title in Chinese Taipei.

“I kept telling myself, from the heart, from the heart, from the heart, because I was very nervous because it was my first playoff,” Korda said. “The wind kind of brought it back in. I made a couple of 3-putts on the back. It just gets away from you so fast, and Caroline made a couple of putts and she was one ahead of me on 17. Nelly was like, geez, I have to make a birdie here. Jason [McDede] gave me a little pep talk going from 17 to 18, win or get into a playoff, so he was definitely great today.”

Masson battled all day with just one bogey on the card to fight her way into her first career playoff and said she can learn a lot from the experience.“I think if you told me at the beginning of the day to be in a playoff, I would have taken it,” Masson said. “Not a bad spot to be in obviously. I did have a couple of chances to get maybe two ahead on 17 and make birdie on 18 and didn’t use them, but I think overall, I just hung with them all day. We are proud of the way we played and battled. Nelly just hit a great drive, second shot into 18. It probably sets up a little bit better for Nelly being a par 5 than for me. She is a little bit longer off the tee, but a great experience.”

Jessica Korda, a five-time LPGA winner, was able to witness her younger sister hoist a trophy for the first time and was the first to give her a congratulatory hug on the 18th green. “Seeing her walk off 18 in regulation, I saw she had fire in her eyes — I just felt really good about it and I was just praying that it was going to work out,” Jessica Korda said. “At the end of the day, a playoff, it’s totally out of your hands. She piped it down the fairway and hit such a good shot in. I did give her a little bit of crap for leaving it short, as you should. But yeah, so awesome to be here.”

American golfer Korda, one of US LPGA’s hottest figures, signed a sponsorship deal with Hanwha, a major South Korean conglomerate. Nelly Korda Shoes

A lot has changed since Mary, Queen of Scots invented the caddy while playing golf in her ankle-length gowns, corsets and leather boots in the 1500s. And no longer are golf shoes attached to metal spikes that screw into the bottom of the shoe like they were in the 1800s, which, believe it or not, stuck around until the ’90s.

In former years, golf footwear had a stock design and a standardized technology with the sole purpose of keeping the player from sliding around during a swing. Now, there’s a multitude of factors that go into designing a shoe, creating nearly endless possibilities for what can go on your feet during a round of golf. If you’ve ever been to the PGA Merchandise Show in Florida, you know that the golf merchandise industry is massive. There’s hundreds of booths— more than 300 apparel booths — with thousands of products all claiming to be the best and your game falls short without it.

If you don’t know what to look for in a shoe, or what YOU need in a women’s golf shoe, it’s hard to make a decision, let alone the perfect one. According to Grant Knudson of Cobra Puma Golf, “The last thing you want to do, especially when you are walking, notices your feet. It should be equipment that seamlessly interacts with your game without noticing.”

While that sounds nice, it’s all about finding that happy medium of comfort and performance when finding the perfect shoe. But if you determine what your priorities are and decide what you’re willing to sacrifice, you can find THE shoe that could even offer improvement to your game as well. Having a steady, comfortable base can only help you, not hurt you!

Nelly Korda Driving Distance

The view from every tee box is different, so when you’ve got a driver in your hands, it’s useful to know how to play more than one type of shot. Good news: You don’t have to be a pro to hit a variety of them. I’ll teach you three, starting with the one you’re probably most interested in: the power shot.

To pick up some extra yardage with your driver, you don’t have to swing harder than usual. Instead, address the ball with more weight on your back foot, about 70 percent (above). It creates a more solid base, so you can maintain balance and increase the chance of hitting the ball in the sweet spot.

This stance also will help you catch the ball on the upswing provided you play it far enough forward. If you hit upon the ball, you’ll launch your drives higher with less backspin, and that creates more distance. I like the visual of the ball being at least somewhere near my left heel. It promotes good extension for longer drives and makes me feel like I can really smash it she has an estimated driving distance of 271.319 yards

Does anyone know what Nelly Korda used to win today on the LPGA tour? I know at one time she was playing Callaway and PXG. … The LPGA players’ bags are very interesting to look at for people with 90-100 mph driver swing speed.
