Born June 15, 1973, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and raised in the town of Ruidoso, New Mexico, Neil attended La Cueva High School in Albuquerque, graduating in 1991 with honors. He began his film career as a child actor when playwright Mark Medoff discovered him at a theater camp in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Her first screen appearance was in the 1988 drama Clara’s Heart alongside Hollywood actress Whoopi Goldberg. The film earned the young actor a Golden Globe nomination.
