Sochan, a 6-foot-9 big, averaged 9.2 points and 6.4 rebounds in one season with the Bears.

Beginning in 1998, San Antonio qualified for a league-record 22 consecutive postseasons, winning five NBA titles with talents such as Tim Duncan, David Robinson, Tony Parker, and Manu Ginobili.

NBA basketball player, Jeremy Sochan was born to his parents, Dad Ryan Williams and Mom Aneta Sochan in Oklahoma.

His mother, Aneta is from Poland and was a point guard at Oklahoma Panhandle State University where she met Sochan’s late father, Ryan Williams. He was also a point guard there and professionally.

Aneta had moved to Panhandle from Poland, where she had previously played for SKK Polonia Warszawa. Her coach at Panhandle stressed defense first and which is what she has imparted to her son, Jeremy.

Ryan died unfortunately in a vehicle accident in 2017.

“I assume it was my grandfather who placed basketball in my hands, but it’s always been around me,” Sochan remarked. “My father and mother both played, so it’s always been there.”

Jeremy held his mother accountable for his irritating behavior in court.

“I’ve always had a little edge,” Sochan said. “My mother was my first coach, and she still teaches me that defense comes first.” She used to advise me to be cheeky and see the game two steps ahead.”

“So, I believe that being cheeky, perhaps invading people’s spaces, might divide their games and cause them to play poorly.”

“It’s not about being a nasty player,” Aneta said. “It comes down to eyesight, seeing and reading the players. Be able to analyze them emotionally as well.”

Aneta’s mentality was straightforward: focus on playing strong defense and making sound judgments, and the rest of his game will take care of itself.

She said she always thought of herself as a solid defender and a high-IQ player during her career, but she doesn’t see her son’s game as a mirror reflection of her own.

“I’ve always been my own person, and he’s his own person and player,” she explained.

There’s an old adage that moms always know best and while the term was intended to be global, it has given new meaning after Jeremy’s draft in the 2022 NBA Draft on Thursday.

Jeremy Sochan Is A Polish American Player Who Represents Great Britain

Jeremy Sochan was born in Oklahoma to a Polish mother and an American father and plays for the Polish national team. Sochan is representing Great Britain in the 2022 NBA Draft and is expected to be a lottery pick by most draft pundits.

Jeremy was born in 2003 in a little town named Guymon, Oklahoma, but once his mother graduated, they relocated to England in 2005.

They resided in Southampton for a few years before moving to Milton Keynes to live with his stepfather.

He started playing basketball with Solent Kestrels when he was six.

Jeremy subsequently went to England when he was two years old and has lived there for most of his life, especially in Milton Keynes. He describes himself as a “citizen of the world,” but his passion for the game began in the United Kingdom.

“It undoubtedly started in England.” I suppose it was around 13 that I started genuinely becoming serious about it. I had to scrap football and stop focusing on basketball only and that’s when I knew that I had a chance.”

Sochan has previously represented Poland at the junior level. He guided Poland’s under-16 national basketball team to victory in the 2019 FIBA U16 European Championship Division B in Montenegro. He was named tournament MVP there.

He became the youngest player to ever play for Poland when he led Poland past Romania 88-81 in his debut game in the EuroBasket 2022 qualification.

He played 29 minutes and scored 18 points, including a game-winning four-point play in the end.

The 19-year-old was regarded as one of the best talents for the 2022 NBA Draft.
