My Three Sons Triplets Where Are They Now?

My Three Sons Triplets Where Are They Now? My Three Sons Triplets joined military and are now retired.

Michael, Daniel, and Joseph Todd were the famous triplets on My Three Sons.

The television series My Three Sons aired from September 1960 to April 1972. After airing on ABC for the first five seasons, the sitcom moved to CBS for the remaining seven seasons.

The sitcom chronicles the life of Steven Douglas (Fred MacMurray), a widower and aeronautical engineer, as he raises his three sons.

It was the second-longest-running television show of its era, with 12 seasons. The sitcom began on ABC in ‘black-and-white, with the first season, directed by Peter Tewksbury, consisting of 36 episodes.

My Three Sons originally featured the I Love Lucy star William Frawley as the triplets’ maternal grandfather, William Michael Francis “Bub” O’Casey.

William Demarest, portraying Bub’s brother, Uncle Charley, replaced Frawley in 1965 following his declining health.

After the eldest son Mike (Tim Considine) married and moved away, Douglas adopted Chip’s (Stanley Livingston) best friend, Ernie (Barry Livingston).

In 1968, Robbie’s wife, Katie, gave birth to triplets -Robbie, Stevie, and Charley Douglas- portrayed by Michael, Daniel, and Joseph.

What Happened To The Triplets On My Three Sons?

My Three Sons Triptlets are now retired after pursuing military careers. Michael, Daniel, and Joseph Todd, who played the triplets, quit acting and became military men.

The Todd brothers’ roles spanned two years between 1970 to 1972 before the beloved show stopped airing.

Decades have passed since the sitcom aired, and the boys have all grown up and have become unrecognizable.

Following the finale of My Three Sons, the Todd family remained in San Diego and the siblings did commercials for several products like Doublemint Gum and a California chain called Mr. Steak.

They did not choose to continue acting, and their careers in the entertainment industry were short-lived. Soon, they headed in a very different direction.

In 1989, the triplets appeared on The Joan Rivers Show to discuss their experience on My Three Sons but have long since left Hollyhood behind.

As the boys were too young at the time, they really could not recall much detail from their days on the show.

In 2018, Joseph Todd, who portrayed Charley, gave an interview. He shared he and his brothers enrolled in a different military occupational specialty in the Army at age 19.

After serving in the Army’s medic department for 20 years, Joseph retired in March 2007.

Later, he accepted a contract position to teach Soldier medics at Fort Sam Houston and then a civil service position to continue training soldiers.

His brother, Michael, retired from the Army as a combat engineer. Currently, he teaches at the Army Medical Department at Camp Bullis.

Daniel served in the Army for eight years and attended the University of Houston to earn a degree. After his graduation, he launched a small business in Houston.
