Once the tension of being a contestant in the MKR cooking show ends, what next? It’s not as if the world has come to an end after the competition.

When most of the winners take the trophy home, it does not stop there. They look for ways to keep up with what they gained from the competition.

After winning the competition, where are the duos now? That is the question we will be answering to enable you to catch up with the winners.

1. Veronica and Shadi – Season 1 winners, 2010

The first edition of MKR saw Clint and Noah from Victoria and Brisbane Shadi and Veronica from Brisbane battling for the top position. Couple Veronica and Shadi were declared the winners.

Veronica and Shadi opened the Ave Cucina restaurant located in Coorparoo, Queensland. After seven years, the couple sold this restaurant to focus on their family.

This loved-up duo is blessed with four children. That is the reason why they needed to take time off to build their family.

2. Sammy and Bella – Season two winners, 2011

Polish sisters Sammy and Bella Jakubiak were the champions of MKR in 2011. The two triumphed over Kane Lillywhite and Lee Chan.

Leigh is no longer in the cooking industry. She started a floral business, Lilli-Anthus Floral Design, in Adelaide that she focuses on.

On the other hand, Jennifer is occasionally on social media posting appetizing food. It is a shame that these two once best friends are no longer on speaking terms.

4. Dan and Steph – Season four winners, 2013

Though they did not start strong, Dan and Steph Mulheron made it at the top. The husband and wife won MKR season 4, beating siblings Jake and Elle Harrison.

Commonly known as spice sisters, Tasia and Gracia Seger won the seventh season of the MKR edition. This was highly accredited to their Indo-fusion fare.

The two won by a whisker leaving the competitors Adelaide couple Carmine and Lauren Finelli, with only three points. That was one stiff competition, to say the least.

When Tasia and Gracia won, they put aside their degrees to focus on launching their restaurant. They fulfilled that dream by Makan restaurant in the CBD of Melbourne.

9. Alex and Emily – Season nine winners, 2018

Alex Clark and Emily O’Kane from Queensland were the seasons nine winners. However, it was a lucky win for Melbourne mums Kim Tran, and Suong Pham almost took the lead.

Season nine was one of the most dramatic seasons since the show aired in 2010. Alex and Emily were the fourth team from Queensland to emerge victoriously.

Alex and Emily are often termed the cocktail couple plan to open an eatery in the near future.
