Mwai Kibaki Illness: What Caused The Death Of The Former Kenyan President?

Mwai Kibaki’s old is held responsible for his death rather than his illness at the age of 90.

Mwai Kibaki, Kenya’s former president, died at the age of 90. His outstanding political career was tainted when he won a second presidential term, which was followed by fatal post-election violence.

Mwai Kibaki Illness And Death

Mwai Kibaki, Kenya’s third president, died at the age of 90 after leading the East African powerhouse for more than a decade, overseeing some of the country’s bloodiest and most corrupt years while also bringing in a new constitution.

Neither his death cause has not been mentioned nor has anything on his illness which suggests that the president died of old age.

Kibaki, who served as President from 2002 to 2013, was a sharp-witted, cunning, and experienced politician who had been active in politics since Kenya’s independence.

His successor President Uhuru Kenyatta said that President Kibaki would be long remembered as Kenya’s gentleman, a superb debater whose eloquence, humor, and charm won the day time and time again. It was his statement announcing his predecessor’s death on Friday.

Mwai Kibaki Wife And Children

Kibaki married his wife Lucy Muthoni, the daughter of a church preacher and a high school principal, in 1961.

In 1936, Lucy Muthoni was born. Rev. John Kagai, a Presbyterian Church of East Africa minister, and Rose Nyachomba, from Mukurwe-ini, Nyeri County Kenya, were her parents.

She attended Alliance Girls High School and then went on to study as a teacher, first at Kamwenja Teachers College and then at Kambui College in Kiambu, where she eventually ascended to the position of principal.

Lucy and Mwai have four children together named Judy Wanjiku, Jimmy Kibaki, David Kagai, and Tony Githinji. Mwai Kibaki Jnr, Sean Andrew, Rachael Muthoni, and others were her grandchildren. The Kenya Girl Guides Association has Kibaki as a sponsor.
