Facts about Mongolia

Mongolia is a prime tourist destination because of its national museum which displays historic and ethnographic artifacts. National parks and lakes are top sites for tourists as there are a lot of activities on offer for tourists to take part in.

Every year, since the last decade, an average of 350,000 foreigners visit Mongolia yearly. In a bid to increase the number of foreign visitors to Mongolia, the government offered special tax exemption of up to 10% of the total investment offered for construction of highly rated hotels. Licenses for tourism business was nullified are tour operators are now not required to pay VAT.

Do not buy, sell, kill or capture any protected wild animal or trade its parts without a license. Anyone caught would receive lengthy prison sentences and a fine. Be aware of the local customs and avoid wearing short sleeves, this can be seen as offensive.
