David Clayton-Thomas was born in Kingston upon Thames, Surrey, United Kingdom in September 1941. He is best known for being the lead vocalist of the band Blood, Sweat & Tears. The band formed in 1967 and Clayton-Thomas was the front man and guitarist from 1968 to 1972, 1974 to 1981, and 1984 to 2004. Blood, Sweat & Tears released their debut studio album Child Is Father to the Man in 1968 and their self-titled album was released in 1968 and reached #1 in the US where it was 4x multi-platinum. Their album Blood, Sweat & Tears 3 was released in 1970 and also reached #1 in the US. They released their 11th album in 1980.
