Miss Meadows Ending Explained and Movie Review

Miss Meadows ending reveals that Miss Mary Meadows hasn’t given up being a vigilante killer. Miss Meadows is a dark comedy released in 2014.

Written and directed by Karen Leigh Hopkins, the thriller film stars Katies Holmes as the title character alongside James Badge Dale, Kate Linders, Callan Mulvery, James Keane, and Ava Kolker.

The film follows Miss Meadows, a young woman working as a substitute elementary school teacher who moonlights as a violent vigilante. She wears traditional clothes and tap-dancing shoes.

Unknown to everyone, she kills local thugs who approach her or when she sees them committing crimes.

She always has a semi-automatic pistol in her purse and speaks in an innocent, childlike manner. Mary lives alone in a small house and talks occasionally with her mom over calls.

A local sheriff investigating the vigilante killings soon meets and develops an attraction to the primary school teacher, following her old-fashioned clothing and speaking style.

When the sheriff begins to doubt that the woman he loves may be the suspect he is searching for, he is torn between whether to protect or arrest her.

Miss Meadows Ending Explained

Miss Meadows ending suggests Miss Mary hasn’t completely given up her secret job as a vigilante killer. She continues to rid the streets of crime.

Mary is a peculiar woman, who walks around in tap shoes, is very soft-spoken, and seems like a real-life Disney princess. But she isn’t the type to wait for her prince to save her and her kingdom.

When she meets a former convict Skylar, she begins to fear for her young students’ safety.

She threatens to kill him if he continues hanging around the school and her kids. It is then revealed that all of the telephone conversations that she has been having with her mom are imaginary.

In fact, her vigilantism stems from the killing of her mother in a drive-by shooting that she witnessed as a child.

As the local bodies pile up, the local county sheriff, Mike, starts investigating. He then crosses paths with Mary, and the two fall in love, with him initially unaware that she’s the one he’s seeking.

After a while, the pair get engaged and Mike confronts Miss Meadows, telling her he knows she is the person behind the string of murders but is willing to bury the crime if she’ll stop.

Pregnant Mary promises to try and the two proceed towards their wedding. On the big day, she and one of her students, Heather, are held captive by Skylar, a released pedophile.

Meadows manages to help her student escape. And before the ex-convict could kill her, her fiance shows up, thanks to her student’s help, and shoots him in the head.

Realizing Skylar’s prints are on Mary’s gun, Mike lets him take the blame for all the people whom his fiance killed as a vigilante.

The movie ends one year later, with Mary, Mike, and their baby daughter in a new big house. Meadows says she has to leave for a while, and we are shown a closeup of her purse and her hubby saying, “Be careful.”

The ending clearly shows Miss Meadows hasn’t given up being a vigilante and Mike has grown to accept it.
