More Information About Milton Street

Milton Street started out as a street hot dog vendor but gained notoriety for his activism against the city’s housing and vending regulations.

Milton Street was elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania State Senate in 1980 and to the 181st District of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1978.

But soon after winning, he changed his affiliation to Republican, giving the party control of the State Senate.

Milton Street was found guilty on three counts of failing to file taxes (a misdemeanor) for the years 2002, 2003, and 2004 on February 22, 2008.

Consistently, this is reported as tax evasion when it is not. On charges of mail and wire fraud, Milton Street was cleared. Street received a 30-month prison term as a punishment.
