Michael Medved Movie Reviews

Michael started his movie critics hosting a spot on CNN between 1980 and 1883. He later left the show in 1983 to join British channel 4 where he hosted The Worst Hollywood show. He particularly focused on what he felt was a bad film, especially on The Golden Turkey Awards. He joined Sneak Previews in 1984 where he co-hosted the show alongside Jeffrey Lyons for twelve years.  Michael left Sneak Previews to join New York Post in 1993 as the chief film critic. He worked with New York Post for a period of 7 years and provided more than 700 movie reviews.

Michael was highly criticized and branded as plot spoiler by some film critics such as Roger Ebert and Jim Emerson for talking about the Assisted Suicide theme in Cint Eastwood Million Dollar Baby. He later came out to counter the attacks which he stated that the theme was misleading because it was marketed as a Rocky form of a plucky female underdog in the boxing arena. He added that he really wanted to avoid the final turn in the build-up but felt honored to inform his audience and readers about the movie content and its provocative point of view.
