Summer said that she and Deal were in an argument over “infidelity and integrity issues in them.” As the matter escalated, Deal was about to leave the room, and Summer was still trying to talk to him.
In this process, Deal reportedly grabbed his wife’s wrist and pushed her towards a pantry. Their two daughters, present in the scene, justify Summer’s allegation to the chief Deal.
Arresting deputy Mathew Rice arrived on the scene in Sanford at around 6:30 p.m. Deal landed that North Florida job after the then-chief resigned after being arrested. Before that stint, he was a deputy chief in Altamonte springs.

Michael Deal alleges that he carried out domestic violence. He was arrested on Wednesday evening, January 19, 2022, without bond on charges of battery at the Seminole County jail.
The chief is scheduled to have a court appearance at 2 p.m. on Thursday. Currently, the city has placed him on administrative leave, announcing Division Chief Pam Marcum will act as the interim head of the department.
Regarding the allegations, Deal said, he doesn’t recollect his memory of laying a hand on his wife. As per him, he just tried to get around his wife during the commotion, that went on between them.
