Mark Jackson Jr Career

While at Taft High School, Mark lettered two years (freshman and senior) playing for head coach Derrick Taylor. He also played a shortened senior season for Taft after meeting transfer requirements. Mark also helped the Toreadors finish with a 26-6 overall record, including a perfect 10-0 mark in the West Valley League. He shot 45.1% from the field and 75% at the free-throw line helping Taft to the regional semifinals of the California Division I state tournament.

Mark transferd to Taft from Calabasas High School. He played his sophomore and junior seasons where he averaged 11.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.4 assists in 16 games with Calabasas as a junior, shooting 39.3% from the field and 34.7% beyond the arc. He shot 4-for-5 from three-point territory in the season opener of his junior campaign finishing with 17 points… scored a season-high 19 points on 8-for-11 shooting against Thousand Oaks…

Mark also played in all of Calabasas’ games as a sophomore posting 86 points and shooting 70% at the free-throw line. From 2010 to 2011, Mark redshirted the season due to injury. From 2011 to 2012, Mark appeared in three games, including in the season-opening victory over UT Martin. He scored five points against UT Martin going 2-for-2 from the field with a three-pointer. Mark earned minutes off the bench in wins over Long Beach State (11/28) and Fairleigh Dickinson (12/10).

Between 2013 and 2013, Mark started five of 10 appearances during the regular season, including eight MAAC contests. He earned his first collegiate start at Rider (1/27) playing 21 minutes and scoring four points in the victory. Mark also started the last five appearances of the regular season before suffering an injury at Fairfield (2/12).
