Marietta Georgia Amanda Puckett Murder Update
On June 29, 1994, Marietta Georgia Amanda Trang Puckett was murdered during an attempted robbery at her mother’s jewelry store.
Eugenio C Quijano, Jr, the now-convicted killer, was attempting to steal jewelry and had spent hours planning his attack outside the store that morning.
He walked into the store and asked Amanda to look at some jewelry with him.
He killed her with a gunshot to the back of the head as she opened the case and reached in for an item.
He took Amanda to the back offices after firing her and then went to the front to clean out the exhibits.
The owner of the store next door came in, shocked, and screamed. Quijano was surprised, and he fled, abandoning his theft.
That day, he took Amanda’s life with no jewels. There isn’t any money.
Amanda died in the hospital the next day, on June 30, 1994. She was only 16 years old at the time.
Where Is Her Murderer- Eugenio Quijano Now?
Talking about the murderer Eugenio Quijano’s whereabouts now, the detectives combed the shooting scene and discovered a palm print on a display case near where Brooks had seen the gunman. It was good proof, but there was no database to search for a match in the mid-1990s.
The other piece of evidence they had was the perpetrator’s white Isuzu, which investigators focused on.
Two hours before the shooting, a grocery store clerk informed detectives that he had observed the automobile in the shopping complex parking lot.
Another eyewitness said he saw a man in the automobile peering through binoculars in the direction of the Pucketts’ jewelry store.
As authorities investigated for a motive in the murder, they conducted a thorough search for the vehicle.
Eugenio Quijano Charges And Background
All of Eugenio Quijano’s immediate family members supported him in eluding the authorities, including disposing of the murder weapon.
Sgt Eddie Herman finally caught up to Quijano after 11 months. Quijano was discovered cowering under his bed like a coward with a search warrant in hand.
This creature was dragged out from under the bed by the seat of his pants, and his rights were read to him.
Quijano was found guilty and condemned to life in jail with the possibility of parole.
