Currently based in Los Angeles, California, the actor has been holding group and solo exhibitions for over two decades in LA. His previous works date back to 1994, when he displayed his artworks around galleries in Philadelphia.

Cassidy’s painting style isn’t simply limited to canvas, but includes woodcuts and painting on plastics. He has explored his artistic side in making conceptual sculptures as well.

While talking about his painting ideas with Less Art, the artist mentioned that his paintings were the non-narrative subjects of his immediate environment, mostly dealing with anxiety, self-absorption, and OCD.

The painter takes more of a meditational approach rather than devotional and paints for the sake of painting. However, having arthritis makes his hand cramp up after painting the whole day.

His show earlier in February displayed the oil paintings curated by the artists during covid. Held at Soldeo Gallery in LA, the highlight was his wife Maria Bamford’s portrayal in the Maria and Marketa painting.
