Through appearances as a guest star on well-known primetime programs including Who’s the Boss? Quantum Leap, Knots Landing, and Cheers, Marcia Cross established her position on the television scene. She was cast as Dr. Kimberly Shaw in the prestigious Fox primetime soap opera Melrose Place in 1992 thanks to her talent and charm.
Cross continued to appear on screens even though her time on the show ended after the fifth season. Notably, she made appearances in well-known sitcoms such as The King of Queens, Seinfeld, Boy Meets World, Ally McBeal, and Spin City.
Cross increased the breadth of her acting career by adding appealing dramatic parts to well-known television programs. Her roles in the television show CSI, Strong Medicine, Profiler, and Touched by an Angel demonstrated her adaptability and capacity to hold viewers’ attention.
Cross expanded her visibility on television in 2003 when she took up a season-long co-starring role as Linda Abbott on the WB sitcom Everwood. But what really propelled her career forward was how she portrayed the nuanced Bree Van de Kamp in Desperate Housewives.
During the 2004–2005 television season, the sitcom became a breakout success, and Cross’s performance received significant praise. She was nominated for multiple honors as a result of her excellent performance, including an Emmy Award, three Golden Globe Awards, and five Screen Actors Guild Awards, winning two of them as a member of the ensemble cast.
She also won a Satellite Award for her outstanding performance in the second season of the show. After an outstanding eight seasons, Desperate Housewives came to an end in 2012.
Marcia Cross Children: Meet Savannah Mahoney, Eden Mahoney
On February 20, Marcia underwent a cesarean section after developing preeclampsia, a pregnancy-specific illness marked by dangerously high blood pressure that put both herself and the twins in peril.
“Savannah came into the world first, followed by Eden within the same minute,” Tom told People magazine as he held her hand throughout the procedure. A cacophony of cries accompanied the amazing event.
Eden weighed 5 lbs. 10 oz., compared to Savannah’s 6 lbs. 7 oz. I carried a baby that weighed over 12 pounds, Marcia remarked with delight. The twins were healthy and spent only four days in the hospital, despite being delivered four weeks earlier than the scheduled due date of March 21.
