Marcelo Pecci, a prosecutor from Paraguay, was killed in Colombia. He was shot three times on a beach on the Bar peninsula, in the Colombian city of Cartagena, by unknown individuals.
The official was on his honeymoon with his wife Claudia Aguilera, whom he married on April 30 of last year. Aguilera had disclosed her pregnancy just hours before the crime.
Sophia López Garelli, the Paraguayan ambassador to Colombia, confirmed the murder. According to early investigations, the suspected assailants were on jet skis, according to the daily ltima Hora. The wife of the prosecutor was uninjured.

She informed her husband, the killed prosecutor, that he had not received any threats, but she did stress that she was in charge of a money laundering and organized crime investigation.
