Madden 24 NFL Live Playbooks is slated to drop in mid-November of 2023. It will add some new exciting plays to the existing 500+ plays.
Through the mid-season update, developers will provide the new formations used by coaches in the ongoing season.
There is one downside of using Live PBs. Your beloved franchise can change its playing style due to an injury to its key player or a strategic decision.
In that case, an updated PB will also shift the focus, and your familiarity with the PB can vanish within seconds. For example, a run-heavy setup with Christian McCaffrey can transition into a passing play. It will damage your game.
Turn it off by heading to Settings > Game Options > disabling NFL Live Playbooks to avoid that.
Last year, the Seattle Seahawks added Pistol Full House, and the New York Giants added Wildcats in Madden 23 as part of Live PBs. The Atlanta Falcons and the Houston Texans added six new formations, which brought their playbook to everyone’s radar as a strong PB.
What Is NFL Live Playbooks?
NFL Live playbooks represent the playbook update that teams receive based on the real-life playbooks used by the franchises in the NFL.
These plays available during the video game launch are generally based on the formations and plays made by teams the prior year. It will miss the new setups a head coach might implement in the new season.

In that scenario, the mid-season update that EA Sports released will help gamers get their hands on the updated playbook.
Many coaching coordinators follow their routines and rely on their guts and players’ abilities. As a result, their playbook doesn’t receive any updates.
On the other hand, some are risk-takers and try something new. It might also be the case that the existing setups start failing miserably, and the coaches are headed back to the drawing table.
Anyhow, the Madden 24 users get to experience a bunch of revamped and fresh formations.

Read Option in Madden 24
Madden 24 Read Option requires you to hand over the ball to the Halfback or rush your Quarterback through the defense.
There are only two options when you perform a read option. Either keep the ball with the QB and let him gain yards, or give your RB the ball and let him slice through the defense.
After snapping the ball, you can fake the handoff and run with your QB. Your signal caller should have a decent speed, and you must read the defense’s formation and know the gap in the defensive line to execute it.
Likewise, in case you decide to deliver the ball to the RB, press the X button on the PlayStation or the A button on your Xbox controller.
You can execute a run option play in the pitch play or sweep formation. For example, the Run n Gun Offense’s ‘Shotgun Double – Read Option’ is a suitable formation to attempt the play.
You can get it in the Bears, Browns, Cardinals, and Bengals playbook.
