Lyndsay Barna is an American journalist who was born and raised a farm girl in NEPA (Northeastern Pennsylvania). She graduated from Western Wayne High School as the class athlete and found herself a passion for sports journalism. She is an avid sports lover and proud to cover all of Central Pennsylvania.

Before starting at FOX43, she was a student-athlete at Shippensburg University. She competed on the SHIP Track and Field team, #PrideTeamTradition, which was an All-PSAC jumper and a hurdler.
When she wasn’t competing or studying, she was a Sports Anchor and Sideline Reporter for the university television station, SUTV. Not like she wasn’t busy enough, she also worked in the sports information office, covering all of the SHIP’s 20-sports teams.
Before graduating from SHIP, she was a sports intern at WNEP-TV in Scranton, Pennsylvania. She had the honor of interviewing some pronounced professional athletes from NASCAR’s Mark Martin to Major League Baseball’s Chase Utley and Ryan Howard.

This past weekend, Shippensburg University’s men’s and women’s track teams traveled to Princeton University and East Stroudsburg University.
At Princeton, senior Erica Hess set yet another personal record and an NCAA provisional qualifying time in the 400-meter dash of 56.04 seconds. Hess also helped lead the 4 by 400-meter relay team to an NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 3 minutes 49.96 seconds. Senior Laura Henzy also had a season personal record in the 400 with a time of 57.87 seconds. Sophomore Caitlin Stuetz finished sixth in the 400-meter hurdles with a new personal record and an NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 1:01.99.
The men’s 400 relay team won the event with a time of 41.33 seconds. The team of freshmen Jon Eisemann and Herman Kirkland, sophomore Romarr Mayne and senior Kevin Marshall is the second team in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) to break 42 seconds this season. Kirkland also won the long jump with a jump of 24 feet, 7 1/4 inches. Sophomore Marcus Line ran another NCAA provisional qualifying time in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 53.57 seconds.
At ESU, sophomore Courtney Martin won both the 100-meter dash and the 200-meter dash. Martin’s team, sophomore Maisie Aumiller finished fourth to Martin in the 200-meter dash. Senior Sara Wlazelek ran a new personal record in the 400-meter run with a time of 59.9 seconds. Freshman Darmaris Schrum jumped a new personal record in the long jump with a jump of 17 feet.
Senior Tappah Dinnall threw a new season personal record in the hammer throw by 10 feet. Dinnall’s new personal record is 172 feet, 7 inches. Senior Dustin Adams finished third in the 3K with a time of 9:01.46 minutes. SU’s track teams will be back in action later this week at the Penn Relays on Thursday and Friday and then on Saturday at Seth Grove Stadium for their home meet.
