Lita Tresierra (1977 – 21 June 2010) was a Canadian actor, voice actor, and singer, most famously known for providing the voice for the character Rosa in the video game Assassin’s Creed II.
Life and career
Tresierra was born María del Carmen Tresierra in 1977, in Costa Rica.
Music
In the mid-nineties, Tresierra was the founding vocalist for a Costa Rican indie alternative rock band named La Nueva P. The band released a studio album titled Simple (December 1994). The group disbanded after Tresierra emigrated to Canada in the last nineties.
Acting and voice acting
Tresierra made her acting debut in 2004, playing the supporting role of a teenage waitress in director Jason Hreno’s TV movie False Pretenses. The following year, she lent her voice to “Lieutenant Vega” character in the video game Act of War: Direct Action. In 2005, she was also seen as a waitress in the “Baring It All” episode of TV series Naked Josh.
In the following years, she appeared in the credits of various shorts and television series including The Ecstasy Note (2006), Lethal Obsession (TV Movie, 2007), The Dead Zone (TV Series, 2007) and Durham County (TV Series, 2009).
In 2009, she became the voice of “Rosa” character in the video game Assassin’s Creed II. The game was created by Canadian game designer Patrice Désilets and cinematic direction was provided by Sylvain Bernard and Shea Wageman. The Rosa character was well-received and she developed a huge fan following. She was to continue with the character in the next game in the series, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, however, she died in a car accident a few months before the release of Brotherhood in November 2010.
Tresierra’s last major role was of the character “Divine” in Australian actor/director Morgan O’Neill’s thriller The Factory, starring John Cusack and Jennifer Carpenter (released 2012).
Death
Tresierra died on 21 June 2010, aged 32, after a serious car accident. She remained in a coma for two days before passing away.
At the time, she was slated to provide the voice for Rosa character in the upcoming game Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood. Following the news of her death, Ubisoft, the game maker, retired the Rosa character instead of re-casting with another voice.
