lindsey Adams Wedding | Husband
2017 was an amazing year! If you would have asked me on December 23rd, 2016 what I thought the new year would bring, I don’t think my answer would have been on the map. God had a plan, and I had no idea how gracious he would be. I also have to give credit to Josh and Jacob Adams.
This was the third rendition of our annual ski trip, and this year we all decided to come early with our families to ski. Josh and Jacob rented a cabin down the road from ours for their entire family to come up and celebrate Christmas.
Anyone that knows the Adams Family will understand that having Christmas anywhere except Mr. and Mrs. Adams home is a BIG DEAL! But I’m so thankful they broke the tradition that Christmas!
Lindsey and I had a chance to ski together our second day in town. I wasn’t shocked after a 17-year lapse in skiing, she was able to jump off the lift and pick it right back up.
I thought to myself, “Typical, she is an Adams.” For anyone that doesn’t know the Adams family, they are all very athletic. I also knew she was Josh and Jacob’s sister when her 3rd run down, she came speeding by full of confidence shouting “I’m Lindsey Vonn!” A split-second later I got to witness her 4-way yard sale sign.
Both her skis and poles were up by me and she was sliding down the hill. I followed up behind her picking up the carnage and smiling the whole way. She was fun, exciting, full of life and I couldn’t wait to get to the bottom and do another run.
That’s how life with Lindsey has been ever since. I am excited for the time we have together and I’m always left wanting more. If you look through the pictures on our site, you will see the most action-packed, full-of-love year of my life.
Four months in, Easter weekend, Lindsey gave me the best present I could have asked for. She introduced me to the other two loves of my life: her daughters Kennedy and Piper. It took 3 seconds for me to fall in love after anxiously waiting to meet them. They are the lights in my life, and already at the age of 3 and 7, they are full of love, spunk, and drive.
I feel lucky and thankful to have the opportunity to be with them as they grow up. Of course, they laugh at my nerdy dad jokes, and tell them to their friends on as many occasions as possible!
The title of this story is the amount of miles that it was from my place in Kerrville to Lindsey’s in Friendswood. We made the drive every other weekend as we put in the hours and miles to grow our relationship into what it is today.
If I was passing the Buckee’s on I-10, that meant I had made it through the SA traffic, bought my sunflower seeds and Red Bull, and was settling in for the treck down I-10. (NASCAR or Parking Lot, Houston only has two speeds.) If she was passing the Buckee’s, that meant she was getting close to SA and I would start getting anxious for her to get to Kerrville.
At every turn, God has opened doors to make our relationship work. In August of 2017, I was blessed with a great opportunity in Houston that allowed for Lindsey and me to cut our distance down to 29 miles. Distance may make the heart grow fonder, but moving closer to her solidified what I already knew to be true: I wanted to marry this woman!
To Lindsey:
I can’t wait to marry you. I am looking forward to our many adventures to come. Like our time on the slopes, I’ll never hold you back. But don’t worry, if the wipe-outs in life ever come, I’ll always be there ready to pick up your skis. ?
Love you, Colin.
We are super excited for our friends and family to join us in Angel Fire! We know it’s difficult to get to, and we are so thankful to have you join us on our special day!
We thought it would be fun to answer the question: Why did we pick Angel Fire?
1. We met at Angel Fire – December 2016
2. As a dating couple, it was our first trip together – February 2017
3. Our first family vacation was in Angel Fire with the girls – July 2017
4. We got engaged at the top of the mountain – December 2017
BUT MOST IMPORTANT!!!
Our wedding is during the hottest month of summer! Instead of melting in the Houston or Kerrville heat, it will be 75 degrees during the day and 45 at night. We Texans can use a break from that!
Christmas 2016: a hellacious road trip that brought me to a beautiful setting and unbeknownst to me, my future husband.
Day one on the mountain was less than exciting, ask Mr. Lee… On the second day of our family trip, I got to enjoy an afternoon of skiing with my brothers and a couple of their friends. After getting my sea legs under me, I started testing the limits – epic fail! Wipeout of the century – both skies and poles are nowhere in sight.
One of my brother’s friends comes snowboarding down the mountain carrying all my stuff. He laughed and made fun of me, and I in return rolled my eyes and took off again. Only to wipe out 10 yards later (insert another eye roll).
A couple of hours later, it was time to take the girls sledding down the hill. I was completely exhausted and carrying them up the hill was getting the best of me. It got to the point that I couldn’t carry them anymore. I catch a glimpse of my girls being carried up the mountain by a guy I don’t even know.
My first reaction was to intervene and get my children back! Stranger Danger!! However, I paused long enough to watch them sled down the hill and hear my babies laugh; a full-belly laugh and my heart melted. They demanded to go again and again and he complied, even though I knew he was as exhausted as I was.
My curiosity was peaked, but I had no intentions of going any further. My babies had a great day in the snow, and that was all that mattered.
From the very beginning, Colin has always acknowledged my daughters. Every conversation included questions about how they were and what activities they had going on at the time. Every holiday, no matter how big or small, he has little gifts ready for them.
He knew they were my whole world, and if he wanted to be a part of it, they needed to be part of his world too. Before the girls met Colin face to face, they would talk to him on the phone. Their relationship had a foundation that would only be built upon once they saw he was a real person.
To say they love Colin would be an understatement. He has made them feel special and treats them like his own. Every mother wants their child to be loved and kept safe and that is what Colin has done from day one.
My relationship with Colin has been a challenge in some areas and fallen into place in other areas. For 6 months, the distance between Houston and Kerrville was a big challenge, but we made it work.
He made me a priority, and I in return made him a priority. Conversations, hobbies, interests, music, movies, everything else in life has been easy and fun. On our numerous road trips, we will both start singing the lyrics to a song at the exact same moment.
He holds my hand every time we’re out walking around or driving in the car, and it never gets old. Every night when I go to bed, I know that I am loved and cherished. Every morning when I wake up, I smile because I know that Colin is in my life.
For years, I have felt alone and faced many challenges, but now I feel safe and comforted knowing I have someone who has jumped into the trenches with me. I’m no longer alone and facing the world on my own.
To Colin: you are my best friend and toughest critic. Your opinion matters more to me than anyone else on the planet. You love my girls as much as I do, and you treat them like your own. No mother could ask for a better father figure than you.
I can’t wait to see what the future holds for us. I promise to always push you outside of your comfort zone and help you surpass any goals you have for yourself. I can’t wait to marry you and take on life together. I love you more than words can describe. -Lindsey

Lindsey graduates out of Legends 600 Pro Series July 12, 2008
After a great season with SPG Motorsports, Adams and her management have made the decision to pull out of the Legends Car Series. The decision was made so that Lindsey will be focusing, full time, on her efforts in a full-size stock car.
“SPG Motorsports gave me everything they had to offer in the Legends Car Series.
Our goal was to learn ovals and develop my skills in the fender to fender racing. Now I will continue on my education in stock cars. I am very grateful to Sean Glennon for his commitment to my development and support in my career,” commented Lindsey earlier this week.
With their goals fulfilled LAR will leave the Legends Pro-Series currently fourteenth in points Nationally, the highest-ranking female in the Pro Division. The highest in National points Lindsey reached was the fifth position with fourteen top-five finishes in the Lone Star Legends Series.
Team Tomlin and Lindsey Adams celebrate first regional and national win at Texas World Speedway! – 6/7/06
This past weekend Lindsey Adams celebrated her first win in a formula car! Thanks to the crew and owners of Team Tomlin, Adams qualified on pole and won two days in a row. The race was held by the Sports Car Club of America out at Texas World Speedway in College Station, Texas.
Friday was a full practice day of five, 20 minute, sessions. Saturday (regional race) and Sunday (national race) each included a qualifying session and 25 laps final race. Lindsey qualified in the first position and finished with a strong win!
“There are races where you might qualify fifth, battle your heart out and finish second. Sometimes those mean more than a win,” Adams comments, “Now is not a time like that. Qualifying on pole by three tenths and winning both finals in a national race felt incredible! I wouldn’t trade this for anything!”

Excerpts:
How did you get into racing? How do you train for this sport?
Racing has been in my family for three generations now. One of my earliest memories is at the motocross track watching my dad race his dirt bike. One of my dad’s earliest memories is growing up in his dad’s machine shop. So, I guess you could say that racing is in my blood.
I always begged my dad to let me race something, a motorcycle, a go-kart, a dragster, I didn’t care… I just wanted to race. He finally bought me a go-kart and here I am, pursuing a career as a professional racecar driver.
Being fit is extremely important in this sport. I find biking, swimming, and weight training a great way to stay in shape. Not only is it important to stay fit physically, but mentally as well. I stay focused and “on track” in order to achieve my goals!
What do you love most about this sport?
I am an extremely competitive person; I always have been. Racing is a constant competition. Whether you are fighting it out on the track, competing for a ride on a certain team, or trying to maintain your reign as a national champion, you are always trying to be the best, trying to win.
Racing is also a constant process. I believe in always challenging myself and pushing myself to the limit. The first time I ever sat in a Formula Mazda I was just so excited to be at that level. Now I have settled in and I am expected to perform not only by my team but by myself. I love the pressure, the constant learning process, the humility it takes, and of course… winning!
How often do you compete? Describe the coolest and/or most challenging race that you’ve ever been in.
I compete at least twice a month. Whether it is in a go-kart or a Formula Mazda, racing is definitely a full-time schedule. When I am not at an event I am testing in Denton, Ft. Worth, or at the next track in my series. Many people ask how I balance school and racing.
My school is so great about working with me to make up classes and complete my work. They believe in me and want me to do the best I possibly can!
One of the coolest races I have ever competed in was the KART National Championships. I had won the Rotax South Central Regions Cup race a few days before and was fastest all week in practice but ended up qualifying 2nd out of 20 drivers, due to low tire pressures, in the most competitive class, the Rotax International class.
I started off-pole (2nd place) in the final race, got the lead, and led all 18 laps. Yes, I love the competition, but sometimes it’s nice to be, hands-down, the fastest driver.
What challenges do you face when you compete? How do you meet these challenges?
In any profession or walk of life, there will be challenges that have to be met. One of the biggest challenges that I have is finding sponsors that will help fund my program.
Without sponsors, I cannot race. So meeting this challenge has been a constant battle that I have won and some times lost. Right now I have an amazing sponsor, Team Tomlin, an Addison, Texas-based racing team, that has provided me with a car and a crew for this coming season. A big thanks to Dan Tomlin Jr. with Team Tomlin.
