Charles Manson and some of his followers were found guilty of participating in the brutal killings of seven people thanks in large part to the testimony of Linda Kasabian, a key witness whose testimony at trial was crucial.
Linda Kasabian passed suddenly in Washington state. According to her death certificate, which TMZ received, she passed away in a Tacoma hospital on January 21. Later, her remains were burned. Her cause of death was not made public.
Upon her separation from the Manson Family, Kasabian renamed herself “Chiochios” in order to disguise her identity. Kasabian received immunity during the 1970–1971 Manson trial in exchange for appearing as a key witness for the prosecution.
She took part in the two nights of anarchy that Manson and his cult followers planned, which resulted in the murder of seven people in Los Angeles.
Kasabian detailed in graphic detail how the 1969 murders took place under Manson’s control during her 18-day testimony. She described how Susan Atkins, Patricia Krenwinkel, and her were driven by Charles Watson to Roman Polanski’s home in Benedict Canyon.
Kasabian said that five victims, including Polanski’s expectant wife, were fatally shot and stabbed by Watson, Krenwinkel, and Atkins.
Kasabian’s evidence was crucial in getting Manson and his adherents convicted, which resulted in their life sentences. Her death signals the end of an era and serves as a reminder of the terrible murders carried out by Manson and his adherents.
