The protesters demanded justice after an officer repeatedly shot Jacob Blake in his back while his children watched from his car that night in Wisconsin city.
Kyle Rittenhouse shot Gaige and two others that night, and fortunately, he survived.
The gunshots, the chaos, and the screams that happened on 25 August still haunt him, he said.
An act made in self-defense saved his life, but he admitted he was never trying to kill Kyle.
Gaige is a trained paramedic who believed the teen to be an active shooter. He had seen Kyle already kill one man; he assumed he would be next.
He didn’t plan to shoot him but tried to preserve his own life.
As a qualified paramedic, he stated that it violated his lifetime ethical code in medicine and that taking another person’s life is not something he is incapable of doing.
Gaige seems to support Kyle’s self-defense claim as he testified that he believed some people were chasing Kyle down the street intended to hurt the teen.
He also confirmed he had a gun in his right hand as he took a step toward Kyle.
Gaige Grosskreutz Bicep Injury and Wound Details
Following the gunshots, Gaige Grosskreutz was the only man to survive being shot by Kyle Rittenhouse.
He further revealed he had his gun pointed in the teen’s direction when Kyle fired a single bullet into his bicep.
The surgeons confirmed that he has to undergo surgery to repair his biceps.
He said in pain that he was missing 90% of his bicep. He also uttered that he is in constant excruciating pain that doesn’t go away.
In an interview, he went on to say that it had not been easy emotionally, physically, or intellectually.
Kyle Rittenhouse, who is only 17, faces two felony charges of homicide in the deaths of Joseph Rosenbaum and Anthony M. Huber.
He also faces a felony attempted homicide charge in Grosskreutz’s incident and possessing a dangerous weapon under 18.
What Is Gaige Grosskreutz Background?
Gaige Grosskreutz is a trained paramedic who is 27 years of age as of 2021.
Not much information is revealed regarding his personal life, but he was in the protest in Wisconsin city as a volunteer.
But he never expected he would be his last patient to treat that night.
