Winner of the James Beard Best Chef award, Koren has come a long way to becoming one of the best in the kitchen, at a time when many were still sleeping.
The problem, however, is that she might not be one of the most popular.

Getting to know the woman better than a chef, Koren Grieveson is South African, though most people have mistaken her for an Angolan. This is where she was born and raised as she revealed to Avec.
Born in the 1970s, very little is known about her entire family. However, we learn that she grew up with a father who worked in the poultry business.
Because of this, Grieveson was always on the move from country to country. Some of the countries she visited include Iran, Brazil and England, before the family, including her mother and sister, eventually settled in the United States. Their first destination in the United States was Glastonbury, Connecticut.
In 2011, she teamed up with artist Tim Anderson to produce art and food, and she revealed that he influenced her cooking with his ‘precise and non-precise’ arts and she tried to capture a lot of things from him.
You know most of the stars that we see actually started or had their dreams come true when they were little kids. Surprisingly, at the age of 17, Koren first served in the military between the ages of 8 and 9 because she “really wanted to drive those Jeeps.”
Not so good for her, after she joined for the sole purpose of driving jeeps, the cars were replaced but she remained in the army for the following years.
After calling, she kept going for ‘Yoohoos diet for rock stars’ including Rollingstone, before deciding to try the job of chef after her dad warned her she needed a job.
She was able to enroll in the culinary school she entered and that’s how she succeeded.
As part of her duties, Koren worked as Sous Chef of ‘Kahan’s Blackbird’ from 1998 to 2003. After her departure, she was appointed director of the Avec avec gallery until 2012.
In 2015, she was appointed head chef at Resto in New York. She held the position for 6 months before her departure. Prior to taking over at Resto, Koren Grieveson ran the kitchen at Claudette.

Already, it is obvious that many things about this woman are well hidden, her relationship is too. Or maybe an aspect of it.
Grieveson is a lesbian with famed American restaurateur, chef Anne Burrell. They went public with their engagement on twitter as early as New Years Day 2013. It is still unknown if they are now married, although that too is unlikely.
Nonetheless, Koren Grieveson and his partner, best known for “Worst Cooks in America” and “Secrets of a Restaurant Chef,” now live in New York City.
Outside of this relationship, it is unknown if Koren had ever had a relationship before.
