While she was 15, she was the youngest contestant to ever get the crown as Miss Teen USA as well as being the second entrant from Louisiana to win the title.

Haik is a member of the First Baptist Church of Franklinton, Louisiana and has also played softball since the age of 3. Former Miss Teen USA, Katherine Haik wanted to do away with the swimsuit competition.

The swimsuit category was chastised for exploiting including sexualizing young women and not promoting diverse body types.  The new active-wear portion will increase the focus on wellness including the health of young ladies.
