The couples had first met in 1917, during the October Revolution in Russia. At that time, Katarzyna was attending the School of Art and Architecture in Moscow.
On the other hand, Władysław was attending the first state-subsidized art academy. Together, the duo played an important role in flourishing avant-garde art.
Moving on, Katarzyna and Władysław tied the knot in 1920. After the situation in the Soviet Union grew worse, they flew from Russia to Poland.
There, both the couples taught art at various institutions. Later, the pair divorced and she had to continue her life alone.
Talking more about her husband, Strzemiński was a world-famous painter. Moreover, he had also served as a second lieutenant and had been seriously wounded in a battle in 1916.
