Professionally known as Judy Greer, Judith Therese Evans is an American author, model, director, and actress known for her outstanding performances as a character actor in several dramatic and comedy films. Her first major acting role was as Fern Mayo (Vylette) in the 1999 black comedy Casse-gueule, in the same year she had a supporting role in the war film Three Kings.
Judy Greer’s Biography
Judy’s full name is Judith Therese Evans and she was born in Detroit, Michigan on July 20, 1975 to Mollie Ann and Rich Evans. His mother who worked in a hospital as an administrator was once a nun who was expelled from the convent after eight years for savage behavior. His father is a mechanical engineer.
She grew up in Redford Township and Livonia and was raised Catholic. Greer is an alumnus of Churchill High School in Livonia and DePaul University, where she graduated with a fine arts degree in 1997. Due to several other actresses named Judy or Judi Evans, Greer adopted the young name her mother’s daughter.
Career / Movies
She started her acting career in 1998 and made her first appearance in a horror movie called Sinistré, where she portrayed a student who pulled a very fatal prank. That same year, she landed a minor role in Doug Ellin’s romantic comedy Kissing an Idiot. This was followed by her first starring role in 1999, where she played Fern Mayo (Vylette) – an introverted teenager who exposed the murder of her friend by their classmate, Snape. The film gained a cult following.
In 2000 she played Erin in What Women Want, the following year she starred alongside Jennifer Lopez in The Wedding Planner. The following year she was cast in an Untitled KenFinkleman Project which is based on a Canadian show The Newsroom. She starred in the project alongside Stephen Colbert who played Finkleman and her, his sister.
Judy Greer has been a recurring face on the Fox comedy series Arrested Development since 2003. She has had supporting roles in several other movies like What Women Want, The Village, 13 30, Elizabethtown, Adaptation, 27 Dresses, L love arrives, among others.
Her other films include Carrie, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Get Yourself a Mac. In 2015, she co-starred in Ant-Man, Jurassic World and Tomorrowland. Greer has also appeared in several movies and shows like Just Shoot Me!, CSI: Miami, My Name is Earl, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Californication, ER, Home, Modern Family, The Big Bang Theory, How I met your mother and Warren the monkey.
Judy also starred in an ABC sitcom Miss Guided, which unfortunately went off the air in its first season. She was also in Visioneers. In 2016, she landed her first leading role as an actress in the Netflix animated programs Ask the StoryBots and StoryBots Super Songs. She would reprise her role the following year in the War for the Planet of the Apes sequel. Her most recent role is Maggie Lang’s 2018 superhero film Ant-Man and the Wasp, followed by her role as Laurie Strode’s daughter Karen Strode in the 2018 horror film Halloween
Greer is also set to voice his lead character, Luna, in the animated television series Let’s Go Luna! , which is scheduled to premiere in November 2018. Her outstanding performances have earned her several nominations for which she has won awards such as the John Cassavetes Award. In 2014, she wrote a memoir titled “I Don’t Know What You Know Me From” in which she recounted her journey from Detriot to Hollywood.

Who is her husband?
The talented actress has been married to TV producer Dean E. Johnsen since 2011. The pair met on a blind date and after dating for a while, they tied the knot in 2011. They have, however, kept two houses separated until 2018.
The reason for the separate homes was to allow Johnsen to stay close to his two children from his previous marriage, but now that his children have grown up and left home, the couple have decided to live together in Greer’s newly renovated home. Judy Greer has no children yet, but she is stepmother to Johnsen’s two children.
