Judi Shekoni Twilight/Eastenders
It’s an old Hollywood cliche, the up-and-coming British soap star who migrated to Los Angeles seeking to get famous and fortune only to end up waiting tables, pulling pints, and schlepping from one failure audition to another until their work visa runs out and they get home, economy class, with their tail firmly between their legs.
Shekoni surely knows this rehearsal. For the past six years, the previous EastEnders actress has been its living embodiment: abrasion together with living on the stew underbelly of Tinseltown, while her twenties switched by and career doors seemed to open a crack, only to be turned down on her face.
