Joan Sebastian Has A Loving Family With Wife And Children

Joan Sebastian wife is 1. Teresa Figueroa Gonzalez 2. Maribel Guardia 3. Alina Espino. Aside from these women, he has also had children with two more.

The other two women that Sebastian has had intimate relations with are Arleth Teran and Erica Alonso. The singer was famous in his day for his many extra-marital affairs and goings on with various women, and the true number of his lovers has been kept well hidden from the public.

The first woman he was ever married to was Teresa Figueroa Gonzalez. Though the exact date of their marriage is unknown, their union gave birth to three of the singer’s eldest children. 

Their relationship would end by the start of the 1990s as Sebastian would soon fall in love with the famous Maribel, who would become his second spouse, but the first one recognized by the public as she is quite well known in her own right.

Maribel Guardia

Joan and Maribel Guardia were married for five years. The two wed in 1992 and divorced in 1996.

Born on May 29, 1959, in San Jose, Costa Rica, Maribel first gained fame at the age of 19 for winning Miss Costa Rica in 1978. She would go on to represent her country in both Miss Universe and Miss World 1978.

Though she wouldn’t win in either, she did manage to nab Miss Photogenic in the former and place in the Top 15 in the latter. The fame from the pageants brought her the attention of Sergio Bustamente, a television producer in Mexico, whom she followed to the country to begin her acting and singing career.

From 1986 to 2015, the model would go on to play the protagonist and supporting roles in over 11 telenovelas to great success. 

Alina Espino

Joan and Alina Espino were married for five years too. They wed in 2010 and were together right up until the singer’s passing.

However, the two have been together since 1996 and their first daughter was born in early 1998. Unlike Maribel and both her daughters Alina has managed to stay away from the spotlight and not much is known about her outside of her marriage and her daughters.

Jose Manuel Figueroa

Jose Manuel Figueroa is a singer and composer. Jose specializes in Regional Mexican music.

The singer is the eldest among the eight siblings and the first of three born from Joan’s relationship with Teresa. Jose is 47 years old and was born on May 15, 1975, in Chicago, Illinois.

Juan Sebastian Figueroa Gonzalez

Juan Sebastian Figueroa Gonzalez was born on August 17, 1977. Sadly, he is not with us today.

Joan’s second child passed away on June 12, 2010, at only 32 years of age. The reason why was because of a bullet wound after a dispute he got into due to not being allowed to get into a nightclub. 

Trigo de Jesus Figueroa

Trigo was born on June 25, 1979. Sadly, like his second oldest brother, he is also deceased.

The singer’s third son was especially close to him and would often accompany him on tours. This would lead to his passing as Trigo was shot in August 2006 in Texas by some frustrated fans.

Zaralea Figueroa Ocampo

Zaralea Figueroa Ocampo is the first daughter of the Sebastian family. She is also the first to be born out of wedlock.

The singer’s daughter is currently 34 years old and was born on August 23, 1988. She was born out of Joan’s relationship with her mother Maria del Carmen Ocampo and is a musician herself.

Marcos Julian Figueroa Fernandez

Joan Sebastian son Julian Figueroa was his sole son with Maribel. Sadly, Julian passed away on April 10, 2023.

A singer himself, Julian was born on May 2, 1995. According to reports, he passed away due to an acute heart attack.

Joanna Marcelia Figueroa Espin

Joan daughter Marcelia Figueroa was born on February 10, 1998. The 25-year-old is a popular social media influencer. 

Alongside her popularity on Instagram, where she has over 150K followers, she is also a model. Fans adore her looks, physique, and fashion sense.

Juliana Joeri Figueroa Alonso

Juliana Joeri Figueroa Alonso is the second child Joan has had out of wedlock. She is the daughter of Joan and Erica Alonso.

Juliana was born on March 8, 2003, and is 20 years old. She takes after her father as she started her musical career when only 8, and plays the violin expertly too.

D’Yave Figueroa Espín

D’Yave is the youngest child of the late Mexican singer. She is also the most private.

Not much is known about the woman as she is the only one who has not revealed her age to the public. Despite having over 21K followers on Instagram, she rarely posts any pictures.

Joan Sebastian siblings are Federico Figueroa and Rosa Figueroa. Unlike Joan, both have stayed out of public life.

Of the two Federico had a rough brush with fame due to his ties to criminal activities. Despite being a businessman and a rancher, Joan’s brother has been threatened by drug traffickers, and cartels, and has even been tied to the 2015 disappearance of 43 Ayotzinapa students.

Rosa, on the other hand, lived a largely quiet life and has only recently been under the public eye due to the passing of her nephew. Many videos have started surfacing of paparazzi asking about her reaction to Julian’s passing, with the woman in tears.

Joan Sebastian parents are Celia Figueroa and Marcos Figueroa. Celia was his mother and Marcos was his father.

The singer’s parents birthed and raised him in a rural town called Juliantla in Guerrero. A year after the boy started making music, his mother sent him to a school near Guanajuato.

Sebastian would be there for three years, returning back after, when his father would send him away again, at age 14 to a monastery in Morelos. There the singer would study under Father David Salgado.

Despite his parent’s wishes for the boy to live a studious life in the seminary, he would eventually leave to dedicate himself to music. We know now that that choice was for the better.
