Robert Foster is the ex-husband of Joan Hotchkis, a veteran American stage, screen and television actress, writer and performance artist who passed away on Sept. 27, 2022 at age 95.
Robert and Joan were married for barely 9 years. They met during a live commercial in 1958.
Not long after meeting, they got married and had a daughter, Paula, who was born in 1962. In 1967, five years after the birth of their daughter, they divorced.
Hotchkis didn’t marry after the divorce and maintained a good co-parenting relationship with Foster. Foster was a director.
Sadly, as mentioned earlier, Hotchkis has passed away.
The multitalented screen goddess passed away due to congestive heart failure.
She starred in many movies but was perhaps, best known for;
- Playing Dr. Nancy Cunningham for several seasons on The Odd Couple,
- Co-writing with Eric Morris the seminal acting manual “No Acting Please” (1977), which is still used in colleges and conservatories, and
- Her groundbreaking performance art works in the 1990s.
In her final credited role, Hotchkis appeared as Madeleine in the 1993 TV movie “The Disappearance Of Christina.”
