Jimi Hendrix Net Worth: Jimi Hendrix was an American musician and songwriter who had a net worth of just $20,000 at the time of his death, which is the same as around $150,000 today after adjusting for inflation. He died without a will so his entire estate was inherited by his father Al Hendrix. The estate provided a modest income for Al from 1970 to 1974 until a formerly-trusted family lawyer convinced him to sell everything connected to Jimi for a relatively small (undisclosed) amount. Al would later sue the lawyer to retain control of the estate, citing conflicts of interest because the lawyer also owned an interest in the company Al was convinced to sell to back in 1974. By 1994 Jimi Hendrix’s estate was worth $80 million. Today his estate is worth $175 million.

Jimi Hendrix was born in Seattle, Washington, in 1942 as Johnny Allen Hendrix. In elementary school, “Johnny” would carry around a broom so he could pretend to be playing the guitar. Eventually, Hendrix was given a ukulele and he taught himself how to play several Elvis Presley songs. By 15, he bought himself his first acoustic guitar and created his first band, the Velvetones. Soon after, his father gave him an electric guitar. Hendrix enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1961 after two run-ins with law enforcement. He was honorably discharged a year later after being deemed unsuitable for the military. By 1964, he recorded and released his single, “Testify”, with the Isley Brothers, though it failed to gain traction. That year, a guitar part on the Don Covay song “Mercy, Mercy”, climbed to number 35. Soon, he left the Isley Brothers and joined Little Richard’s the Upsetters. His single with Little Richard charted at #92. In 1965 Hendrix made his TV debut with the band. In 1966, the Jimi Hendrix Experience was born, and quickly gained traction in the United Kingdom with three top ten hits, “Hey Joe”, “Purple Haze”, and “The Wind Cries Mary”. It only took another year for Hendrix’s popularity to soar in the U.S. with an appearance at the Monterey Pop Festival. His last studio album, “Electric Ladyland”, topped the U.S. charts. He was named Artist of the Year by Billboard and Performer of the Year by “Rolling Stone”. By 1969, he was the top-paid entertainer in the world, and was the featured act at Woodstock. Hendrix died a year later in London at the age of 27 years old from asphyxia caused by a drug overdose. In 1991, he received a posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In 1992 the Jimi Hendrix Experience was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He is regarded as one of the best guitar players in history.

Michael Flatley’s net worth, biography, fact, career, awards and life story

Michael Flatley Net Worth: Michael Flatley is an Irish-American dancer and choreographer who has a net worth of $350 million. Born July 16, 1958 in Chicago, Illinois, Michael Flatley is internationally known for Irish dance shows Riverdance, Lord of the Dance, Feet of Flames and Celtic Tiger. He emigrated from Ireland with his parents and settled in Chicago, Illinois, where the family established a successful construction business. Michael credits his father with instilling in him the tireless work ethic and extraordinary drive that empowered him in his quest to transform his dreams into reality. His mother and his maternal grandmother, Hannah Ryan, were both champion Irish dancers and dance was in his blood. Grandmother Hannah taught Michael his first few dance steps at the age of four and encouraged him to follow his heart and his dreams. Years later, when these dreams became reality, an empty front row seat at every show marked his silent tribute to the late grandmother he so adored. Michael’s parents were committed to retaining their children’s Irish heritage, so at age 11 Michael was “dragged by the ears” to Irish dance class. He was sent home after being told he was too old, but Michael persisted. Not only because “there were lots of pretty girls in class,” he reportedly confessed with a grin, but also because he could not let a challenge go unanswered. Surpassing his classmates in winning competitions, 17-year-old Michael became the first American to bring the title of All-World Irish Dancing Champion to the U.S. Michael also studied traditional Irish flute and won the first of several titles as All-Ireland Flute Champion. In 2011, he was inducted into Irish America magazine’s Irish America Hall of Fame. Flatley released a flute album titled On A Different Note in 2011. The 25 tracks include pieces he has played in his shows, other traditional tunes and new compositions.
