Template:Infobox Chinese/Korean Jim Lee (Korean: ; born August 11, 1964) is a Korean-American comic book artist, writer, editor, and publisher who grew up in the United States of America. He began his career as an illustrator for Marvel Comics in 1987, drawing series such as Alpha Flight and The Punisher War Journal before becoming well-known for his work on The Uncanny X-Men. To this day, X-Men No. 1 (the 1991 spinoff series premiere that Lee pencilled and co-wrote with Chris Claremont) is the best-selling comic book of all time, according to Guinness World Records, and Lee is the artist responsible for it. With the formation of Image Comics in 1992, Lee and a group of other artists began publishing creator-owned comics under their own imprint. Through his production firm Wildstorm Productions, Lee published series such as WildCaTs and Gen13, among other titles. Lee sold Wildstorm to DC Comics in 1998, deciding to forego the role of publisher in order to return to illustration. He continued to run Wildstorm as a DC imprint until 2010, while also illustrating successful titles set in DC’s main fictional universe, such as the year-long “Batman: Hush” and “Superman: For Tomorrow” storylines. On February 18, 2010, Jim Lee and Dan DiDio were named as the new Co-Publishers of DC Comics, taking over for Paul Levitz, who had stepped down. In honour of his contributions, he has won the Harvey Award, the Inkpot Award, and three Wizard Fan Awards.
