Jerry Yang was born November 6, 1968 in Los Altos Hills, California. He is best known as the co-founder and former CEO of Yahoo! Inc. He is currently a founding partner at AME Cloud Ventures and serves as General Manager of Taiwan – CMP Technologies at Rohm and Haas Electronic Materials CMP, Inc., as well as Rohm and Haas Electronic Materials CMP (Korea) Ltd. Yang served as CEO of Yahoo! Inc. from June 18, 2007 to January 2009 and served as its Chief Yahoo from March 1995 to January 17, 2012. He co-founded Yahoo! Inc. in 1995 and served an Executive Director from March 1995 to January 17, 2012 and as a key member of the executive management team until January 2012. His focus at Yahoo! over the years has included corporate strategy, Yahoo!’s technology vision, strategic business partnerships and international joint ventures, as well as recruiting key talent. Yang led a number of initiatives, including two of the biggest investments in the Internet: Yahoo Japan and Alibaba Group. He serves on the board of many other companies as well, some of which are DotCloud, Inc., Docker, Inc. and Lenovo. Yang holds a BS, PhD and an MS in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.
