Jerry Kelly Net Worth, Income, Salary, Earnings, Biography

Jerome Patrick Kelly (born November 23, 1966) is a professional golfer from the United States. Kelly was born in the Wisconsin capital of Madison. He graduated from the University of Hartford in 1989 and began his professional career the following year, but it wasn’t until 1996 that he was invited to play on the PGA Tour. The win came after a strong 1995 season on the second-tier Nike Tour, during which he took home two event victories.

His greatest year to date has been 2002, when he finished fourth on the PGA Tour money list and claimed victories at the Sony Open in Hawaii and the Advil Western Open, among other events. By making a two-foot par on the last hole, Kelly won the 2009 Zurich Classic of New Orleans by one stroke over the other three players in the field (Charlie Wi, Rory Sabbatini, and Charles Howell III). It had been seven years since he had last claimed victory. Kelly has been in the top 20 of the Official World Golf Ranking on many occasions. As a high school ice hockey player for Madison East, Kelly was named to the All-City team.

He has said that his hockey experience may have hindered his golf early in his career because of the aggression that it pushes him to bring to his game. Kelly finished outside the top 125 on the PGA Tour’s money list for the first time in his professional career, finishing the season only $1,809 short of earning a full Tour card for the first time in his career. In addition, he ended 2012 as the 25th highest-paid PGA Tour player in the history of the tour. Instead of attending Q School (where his performance would have guaranteed him a spot in the final stage), Kelly competed on the PGA Tour in 2013 with a career money list exemption, which put him nineteen places higher on the priority ranking list than the 126-150 category (Priority Ranking 29).
