Jermaine Pennant Net Worth, Income, Salary, Earnings, Biography

Pennant (born 15 January 1983) is an English footballer who plays as a winger for FC Pune City. He is the son of former Premier League player Jermaine Lloyd Pennant. Pennant, who was born in Nottingham, began his professional football career with his hometown club, Notts County. He received positive feedback while playing for County’s junior squad, which led to his signing by Arsenal in 1999. As a result of his inability to make an impression at the North London club, he went on loan to Watford, Leeds United, and Birmingham City before signing a permanent deal with the latter. During his time as an Arsenal player, he was selected for the England under-21 squad and earned 24 caps. He first came to public attention in 2005, when he was required to play a match while on probation—he did so while wearing an electronic tag as a result of a drunk-driving conviction. Following Birmingham City’s relegation from the Premier League in 2006, Pennant joined Liverpool for a price of £6.7 million.

He was the winner of the 2006 FA Community Shield and also played an important part in Liverpool’s journey to the 2007 UEFA Champions League Final, where they were defeated by AC Milan 2–1. Off-field issues, on the other hand, continued to plague him, ultimately leading to his exclusion from the team. He first joined Portsmouth on loan before moving on to join Real Zaragoza in the Spanish league in 2009. His stay in Spain was marred by disciplinary issues that he had to deal with. For the 2010–11 season, he returned to the Premier League, this time on loan to Midlands side Stoke City, who he had previously played for. Following a good loan stint with the Potters, he was offered a permanent deal in December 2010. He appeared in the 2011 FA Cup Final, which Stoke lost to Manchester City 1–0, and also appeared in the 2012–13 UEFA Europa League campaign with the Potters. Pennant fell out of favour with Tony Pulis during the 2012–13 season, and he was loaned out to Wolverhampton Wanderers during that season. Pennant’s Stoke City career seemed to be coming to an end, but new manager Mark Hughes extended his contract with the club. In January 2014, however, he decided to leave Stoke City after failing to make an impression.
