Ben Shattuck is a writer, painter, and curator from the United States. Six Walks from Tin House, Shattuck’s memoir, was named an editor’s pick by The Rumpus and a “must-read book” by Town & Country. Shattuck received a PEN/Robert J. Dau Short Story Prize from Pen America, a Pushcart Prize, and a Bread Loaf scholarship for his short fiction.
Shattuck received his high school diploma from Deerfield Academy, his college education from Cornell University, and his Master of Fine Arts in fiction from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. Shattuck taught fiction writing as a graduate teaching assistant at the University of Iowa and then at Victoria University of Wellington.
