Jean Faut Obituary
From 1946 until 1953, American pitcher Jean Anna Faut, also known as Jean Winsch or Jean Eastman, competed in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. She was born on November 17, 1925, and she passed away on February 28, 2023.
Right-handed pitcher Faut is typically regarded as the best overhand pitcher in league history. She set numerous records during her career, including the lowest pitcher career ERA in the league (1.23).
With 140 victories, 64 defeats, three seasons of 20 victories, and two flawless games, Faut concluded her playing career. She also won the Triple Crown twice and led the league in wins and strikeouts three times.
Faut’s effectiveness on the field is demonstrated by the championship triumphs her teams achieved in 1951 and 1952.
She earned Player of the Year twice during her eight-year career and was an All-Star four times. Faut, a professional baseball player, wife, and mother, maintained a normal way of life despite her many triumphs.
Faut’s career is an example of the numerous women who played in the AAGPBL during the period of fierce overhand throwing competition. In the world of women’s baseball, she is considered a great baseball legend and a pioneer.
