Jalen Mills – Biography, Height, Weight, Body Traits, Other Facts

American football analysts would argue that in recent times, Jalen Mills has been more recognizable in a game because of his green hairdo than his impact. The Philadelphia Eagles’ seventh-round pick of the 2016 NFL draft drew widespread criticism for their contributions but is still viewed as a player who cannot be playable on their day.

Jalen Mills’ Biography

Jalen Mills was born on April 6, 1994 in Amsterdam, Dallas, Texas. As a young child, Mills displayed outstanding athletic ability that made him the talk of his hometown. He attended Lancaster High School for his first three years before transferring to DeSoto High School. In his senior year with DeSoto, Mills recorded 26 tackles, one interception and six passes. He then committed to attending Louisiana State University (LSU).

After graduating in 2011, Mills enrolled at LSU, where he got to play under head coach Les Miles. The cornerback started in all 13 games in his freshman year with 57 tackles and 2 interceptions. The following year, he improved in 13 starts to 67 tackles, 3 interceptions and 3 sacks. For his junior year, Jalen Mills was used primarily as a safety measure as he recorded 62 tackles and 1 interception. Mills played fewer games in his final collegiate season because he injured the first six games. He only recorded 30 tackles but continued to receive CBS Sports All-American honors.

After graduating, Mills was slated to be a second- or third-round pick, but his injury scared a few teams that didn’t select him. He finished in the 7th round as the 233rd overall pick of the Philadelphia Eagles’ 2016 NFL Draft. Mills later went to training camp to secure a starting corner kick position, but this didn’t go as planned as his coach named him the fourth corner kick on the squad.

He made his NFL debut with his team in the 2016 season opener against the Cleveland Browns, where he contributed two tackles to his team’s win. He then went on to record 61 combined tackles (51 solo) and 7 passes defended in his rookie season.

Early in the 2017 season, Millsin was able to secure the starting cornerback spot. He showed his coaches he deserved the job by recording 9 combined tackles, 2 pass deflections and 1 interception in the 2017 season opener against the Washington Redskins. Mills sustained his performances throughout the season and through Week 8 he was named NFC Defensive Player of the Week. He recorded 64 combined tackles (51 solo) and 14 pass defenses as his team made a run to the Super Bowl, where they defeated the New England Patriots.

According to Mills, the green haircut came about as a joke between himself and his friends. He ended up liking it and decided to keep wearing it, at least for now.
