Ja Rule Biography

Ja Rule born Jeffrey Bruce Atkins is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and actor from Queens, New York. He is best known for his album Pain Is Love and hit singles “Holla Holla” and “Always On Time”.

Rule debuted in 1999 with Venni Vetti Vecci and its single “Holla Holla”. From 1999 to 2005, he had multiple hits that made the top 20 of the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart, including “Between Me and You” with Christina Milian, “I’m Real (Murder Remix)” and “Ain’t It Funny” with Jennifer Lopez, which both topped the US Billboard Hot 100, the Grammy-nominated #1 hit “Mesmerize” with Ashanti, “Always on Time” with Ashanti, and “Wonderful” with R. Kelly and Ashanti.

During the 2000s, Rule was signed to Murder Inc. Records, formerly known as The Inc. Records and led by Irv Gotti. Due to his hits with his collaborators, Ja Rule has earned four Grammy nominations, and has had six top-ten albums, two of which, Pain Is Love (2001) and Rule 3:36 (2000), topped the US Billboard 200.

Ja Rule Age – How Old Is Ja Rule?

He was born on 29 February 1976 in Queens, New York City, New York, United States. He is 42 years old as of 2018.

Ja Rule Height

He stands at a height of 1.75 m weighing 154 pounds (70 kg).

Ja Rule Family – Ja Rule  Parents

Ja Rule is the son of Debra and William Atkins. His father left the family when he was very young. Ja Rule was raised as an only child, as his younger sister, Kristen, died in the womb when Atkins was 5.

His mother was a healthcare worker, and due to the amount of time she spent working, Atkins was largely raised by his grandparents as a Jehovah’s Witness. His mother left the Jehovah’s Witness religion when he was 12.

Atkins began selling drugs at age 12 in Hollis.

Ja Rule Wife – Ja Rule And Ashanti

Ja Rule married Aisha Murray on April 14, 2001 and together they have three children. The two met at Floral Park where they were both doing Junior High, at ages 15 and 14 respectively. They both proceeded to high school together but Ja Rule dropped out and so did not graduate with Aisha. They started dating after Aisha’s graduation in 1994, getting married about seven years later.

Ja Rule Kids

Rule is a father of three children; a daughter Brittney Atkins (born 1995), and two sons Jeffrey Atkins Jr. (born 2000), and Jordan Atkins (born 2005).

Ja Rule Gay – Is Ja Rule Gay?

After Ja Rule’s two-year jail term, reports flooded the media early December 2013, that he has turned gay! It circulated that his wife made the revelation during an interview on MTV’s Married Life After Prison.

According to his wife Aisha, Ja Rule, since he returned from prison, wrote love songs to his then fellow inmates and has also forgotten how to treat a woman (sexually). She was quoted to have said things about the man sucking a d*ck and destroying a marriage they built in over ten years.

It was therefore understood from Aisha Atkins’ revelation, that Rule had fallen in love with one of his cellmates, whom he left his wife for. But Ja Rule himself denied the rumours on Twitter, saying the stories were lies circulated by a silly website. He later shared an intimate photo of his wife and himself and captioned it thus: “Sorry to the haters who want the rumours to be true so bad…”

It turned out that Rule was right, as it was later discovered that the gay story was cooked up by a satirical website, Creambmp.com. In addition, the particular episode of the said MTV documentation where Rule’s wife made the revelation has since been found nowhere on the internet or any media platform.

Moreover, there has not been any evidence that Ja actually left his wife and kids for a man, as claimed in the story. Instead, the two were seen late last year, being very intimate during a tour and shopping spree. Therefor Ja Rule is apparently not gay.

Ja Rule Net Worth

He has an estimated net worth of$8 million.

Ja Rule Responded To The Fyre Fest Documentaries By Letting Fans Know He Was Scammed, Too

Ja Rule has seen the Fyre Festival docs and is ready to defend himself. Over the weekend, Rule responded to the Fyre Festival docs, Hulu’s Fyre Fraud and Netflix’s Fyre: The Greatest Party That Never Happened, which take a closer look at the doomed 2017 luxury music festival he helped create with entrepreneur Billy McFarland. And Ja Rule wants those who’ve seen the docs to know, he claims he was also duped by McFarland, who was convicted of fraud and sentenced to six years in jail last year.

“I too was hustled, scammed, bamboozled, hood winked, lead astray!!!” Ja Rule wrote on Sunday (Jan. 20), adding in his next message, “Come on your [sic] smarter than that… I feel bad for those ppl… but I did not and would never scam ANYONE… period!!! And I don’t care if anyone sympathizes with me or not those are the FACTS!!!”

Rule didn’t participate in either doc, but he does appear in behind the scenes footage, which he claimed on Twitter didn’t tell the full story of the festival in Great Exuma, Bahamas, which was a way for McFarland to promote Fyre, his website and app meant to change talent booking. In fact, he took viewers to task for just taking the docs at their word.

“I love how ppl watch a doc and think they have all the answers,” he wrote, adding in his following tweet, “Y’all want it to be me sooo bad it’s crazy… kinda sad!!! the crazy sh*t is I’m watching the docs in awe myself…”

He later defended his own connection to the Fyre Fest. “I had an amazing vision to create a festival like NO OTHER!!!” he tweeted. “I would NEVER SCAM or FRAUD anyone what sense does that make???”

Following the dumpster fire that was Fyre Fest, Rule released an initial statement apologizing to those who came out to see models like Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner, and Hailey Baldwin and ended up with sad sandwiches instead.

“We are working right now on getting everyone off the island SAFE that is my immediate concern,” he tweeted back in 2017. “I’m heartbroken at this moment my partners and I wanted this to be an amazing event it was NOT A SCAM.” While he stated that he was “deeply sorry” for what had happened, he was also quick to dismiss any personal blame writing “it’s NOT MY FAULT.”

Over the weekend, Rule once again wanted to separate himself from the controversy, accusing the makers of the documentaries of paying people off to tell the story they wanted to tell.

“Hulu PAID BILLY!!! That money should’ve went to the Bahamian ppl,” he tweeted. “Netflix PAID f**k Jerry the same guys that did the promo for the festival,” he wrote, before claiming he had “receipts!!!” of what really happened. He has yet to share those with Twitter.

When fans questioned Ja Rule over whether he profited off of the festival, he tweeted, “I NEVER MADE OR GOT PAID ONE DOLLAR FROM FYRE… BUT EVERYONE ELSE DID!!!”

Ja Rule did send his apologies to Maryann Rolle, a restaurant owner in the Bahamas who was featured in the Netflix documentary. In the film, Rolle revealed that she had lost her life savings after being scammed by McFarland and his company.

“My heart goes out to this lovely lady,” Ja wrote on Instagram. “We’ve never met but I’m devastated that something that was meant to be amazing, turn out to be such a disaster and hurt so many ppl… SORRY to anyone who has been negatively effected by the festival.”

Many felt the same way, donating to Rolle’s GoFundMe to help her pay off debts accrued after the festival. The fund has raised more than $130,000 since being created on Jan. 14, exceeding its original goal by more than $7,000.

“There is an old saying that goes ‘bad publicity is better than no publicity’,” Rolle wrote on her GoFundMe page. After these documentaries, Ja Rule might be hoping the same thing.

ANDREW SCHULZ OFFERS JA RULE A FADE IN CHARITY BOXING MATCH

In the latest episode of The Brilliant Idiots Podcast, comedian Andrew Schulz says that he would “absolutely” fight Ja Rule granted that the bout was for charity.

In the episode, Brilliant Idiots Co-Host Charlamagne Tha God recounts an episode of his MTV show Uncommon Sense that featured both the Murder Inc. rapper and Schulz.

On the podcast, Charlamagne recalls an on-air debate gone wrong about the infamous 50 Cent-Ja Rule beef. According to Charla, Schulz, who was wearing a Meek Mill T-shirt that read “Rap Lives Matter,” told Ja Rule that he would be featured on the T-shirt had this been back in the day.

Rule responded saying simply, “I’m gon’ fight,” according to Charlamagne to which Schultz does not remember happening. The stand-up comedian then offered the “Clap Back” rapper a fair one if he still felt compelled to square up.

“Well if he’d like to do that for charity we could absolutely arrange that,” Schulz says around the 5:20 mark on the podcast. “Ja is 4’11, if [he] wanna catch the next hands he’s more than welcome to do that.”

Schulz shortly after proposed that any fight revenue go directly toward the people who were affected by Ja Rule’s failed attempt at hosting a musical event Fyre Festival, which resulted in large losses of money from concertgoers and caterers and has been detailed in two different documentaries on Netflix and Hulu.

Ja has not yet responded to a potential charity boxing match with the former Guy Code cast member.

The Fyre Festival co-founder is currently battling different lawsuits to which his defense has been that he is also a victim. Rule is currently part of a $100 million lawsuit over the festival fail.

Ja’s partner on the venture, Billy McFarland, was found guilty for fraud and sentenced to six years in prison.
