Isobel Steele  Interview

Emmerdale star Isobel Steele was in the middle of talking us through the next stage of her character Liv Flaherty’s journey when her co-star Danny Miller casually gatecrashed the Emmerdale interview by calling  Isobel Steele.

When Isobel got back on topic, she teased that the special relationship between Liv and Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) would be further explored in the wake of Maya Stepney’s (Louisa Clein) exit as Liv may be the only one to get him through the aftermath of being groomed and abused.

Isobel Steele Dumping Ground

The fourth series of the British children’s television series The Dumping Ground began broadcasting on 29 January 2016 on CBBC and ended on 2 December 2016. The series followed the lives of the children living in the fictional children’s care home of Ashdene Ridge, nicknamed by them “The Dumping Ground”.

Isobel Steele plays the role of Kara whereby she falls in love with a boy called Mo. Mo is given relationship advice to be able to charm Kara over but he decides to be himself which wins her over. It consisted of twenty, thirty-minute episodes, airing in two halves in January and October 2016. It was the twelfth series in The Story of Tracy Beaker franchise.

Isobel Steele Outfit

The Sun paper criticized Steele’s decision to “cover up from head to toe” at The British Soap Awards, where she was named best young actor.

“There have been people from all of the soaps saying they think it’s out of order,” Isobel tells Newsbeat. The Sun, which was widely criticized online, had to apologize. Reaction to the paper was pretty quick. The night had been going brilliantly for Isobel, who plays Liv Flaherty.

“When they actually call your name out it becomes really real and it’s really incredible. It’s a tough category,” she says. Steele’s parents had been watching the show on the telly and were apparently “screaming their heads off”.

“I got texts from all my family. My phone was blowing up. I think the show caught me on my phone for a second when we were live, which looked really bad – but it was just because my phone was going off like mad, I had to sort it out,”  Isobel said.

She was going home following the after party when someone tagged her in The Sun’s article.

She then started tweeting. Isobel says she wasn’t offended that someone didn’t like her dress – she was trying to make a point.

“It’s not really about me,” she said.”I was just making the point about the whole article being written full stop. People have a nice night, and then they wake up and can feel really rubbish about what they wore.”

Isobel believes the response has been a really positive outcome. The “flash a bit of flesh” comments were made by The Sun’s Tracey Lea Sayer – and Isobel says it’s “unfortunate” the piece was written by a woman.

Steele said the journalist hadn’t apologized personally to her – but there was one on what appears to be her Twitter account, A spokesman for The Sun told Newsbeat: “The article was taken down as soon as we realized our mistake and we are taking steps to ensure this can’t happen again. As an organization, we got this wrong and we apologize, not least to Ms. Steele herself.”

Isobel admits the article “did dampen the night slightly” but isn’t dwelling on it anymore.

“I’ve still won the best young actress. I’m really pleased and everyone had a great night so hopefully, we can put this behind us and focus on the night rather than what we were wearing.”

She previously said: “I’ve been doing that for a long time. I just never felt the need to post it before. But I fancied doing it.

“It was just a bit of fun, and it wasn’t for anything. I just enjoy it. I don’t normally shout about it.”Isobel has been a key character in ‘Emmerdale’ since she joined in February 2016 as the half-sister of Aaron Sugden-Dingle (Danny Miller) being involved in a number of major storylines, and was introduced as part of Aaron’s child sex abuse storyline as the daughter of his father and abuser Gordon Livesy.
