He was seen being detained by the Cincinnati police officers when he was doing a live stream. Another Twitch streamer, Adin Ross, confirmed that the Youtuber was the victim of swatting.
Is Ishowspeed Dead Or Alive?
Ishowspeed has been trending online as he was seen getting handcuffed by the police during a live stream. He allegedly prank-called the cops, telling them he needed emergency help.
However, various theories are circulating online regarding the incident. Some supporters said he was not calling the cops, although he was acting. They argued that he just worked and called his friends, and they were not real cops on the phone.
However, a video of the Cincinnati Police putting handcuffs on him has gone viral. Some said he was detained for pulling up a prank call on cops.
However, another group of netizens said that someone falsely reported him as a threat, and he was swatted. He was putting his PlayStation on fire in his yard, which made someone report him.
Anyone could be a victim of swatting. Although it may seem like a prank, it is dangerous and life-threatening. In 2017, 28-year-old Andrew Finch passed away after being fatally shot by police in Wichita, Kansas, in response to a false hostage threat.
Likewise, when the Youtuber was detained, viewers heard a sound in between, making them think it was a gunshot. However, it turned out to be a misunderstanding.
