Rachel Mackley was born in London on November 9, 1982. She works as a broadcaster in the United Kingdom. She grew up in Yorkshire and went to Newcastle University to study Fine Art.
After graduating from university, she worked in public relations in Edinburgh before beginning a journalism career in 2007 at Leeds Trinity and All Saints College with the help of an ITV grant.
She began her master’s studies in bi-media journalism at Leeds Trinity and All Saints in 2007 as an ITV bursary student. Later, she worked as a newsroom journalist for ITV Anglia. After only one year, she was already delivering the weather multiple days a week. She worked as a producer, newsreader, and weather presenter, among other things.
Mackley moved to the BBC in 2011 as the weather forecaster on South East Today after working for three years at ITV Anglia.
She took part in a celebrity match on June 17, 2014, when the Aegon International tennis tournament returned to Eastbourne, East Sussex, to commemorate its 40th anniversary. Leon Smith trained her before the match, and she gave a short segment on South East Today about the tournament.
