Msiza was born in the Kwa-Thema township in the Gauteng area of South Africa. He began studying painting and theatrical classes when he was nine years old, and he acquired an interest in performing.
When he was 14, he won a drama competition at his high school. He got a job as a miner after finishing school, but he was fired along with other miners involved in a strike.
Following his dismissal, he chose to follow his ambition of being an actor, and his first role was in a play directed by Gibson Kente called ‘Mfowethu.’
