Maluma born Juan Luis Londoño Arias, is a columbian Singer, Songwriter and an actor. Maluma also collaborated with Myriam Fares, and Nicki Minaj to sing an official song ” Tukoh Taka” for the 2022 FIFA World Cup ongoing in Qatar.
The 28-year-old musician, born on 24th January 1994, could not perform at the opening ceremony of the World Cup. The reason has been attributed to the fact that, at the Fan Festival opening, which took place on Saturday (Nov. 19) at Al Bidda Park on November 19, 2022.
Fans were expecting to see Maluma perform the official song at the World cup opening ceremony but he could not make it due to the reasons stated above. Maluma performed some of his hit songs like “Hawaii,” and also sang “Tukoh Taka” alone.
Maluma started trending following a controversy that ensued in his interview with journalist Moav Vardi. Maluma was questioned about his decision to come to Qatar, despite the human rights violations in Qatar. His colleagues in the industry, Shakira and Dua Lipa dropped out due to these same reasons, but Maluma overlooked it.
After asking Maluma this question, the journalist went ahead to ask more controversial questions. This pushed Maluma to react and walked out of the interview considering the rudeness of the interviewer.
His new song, “Tukoh Taka”, contains verses in Spanish, English, and Arabic and the music video has been uploaded on various YouTube pages. I
